What type of properties do you landscape?
A) We provide landscaping services for apartments, brownstones, lofts, commercial,
and corporate spaces, whether backyard, terrace or rooftop.

Does ECL have a particular design style?
A) ECL crafts its design to suit the preferences of its clients. The "View our
Work " section contains examples of various design traditions we have worked
in.

What regions of the country do you presently serve?
A) ECL generally restricts its services to properties in Manhattan. However
we are happy to consider especially interesting or challenging projects outside
that range.

Do you provide landscape "maintenance" services?
A) Yes! We'll work with you to create a convenient schedule to perform all required
maintenance for all your plantings. Remember, professional care for your garden
is advisable, no matter who performs the service.

How long does a landscape design project take?
A) It depends greatly upon the complexity of the project and difficulty of obtaining
contracting services. Additionally, dealing with municipal agencies or Co-op
board can impede progress. Generally our projects take anywhere from 2 weeks
to 2 months to complete.

How am I charged for a Landscape Design Project?
A) Design Fees are laid out in their entirety prior to commencement of work
on any project. These costs are fixed, so long as the design elements do not
have to be altered. Architect and Contractor Fees are billed as they are received
to allow us to meet payment schedules. We charge a Project Management Fee, which
reflects the need to coordinate the various professionals and to obtain and
install the various plantings, pots and planters utilized.

Who performs the actual work for a landscape design project?
A) ECL performs all plantings and landscape design. We work with licensed general
contractors to perform all construction.

Will you help us to deal with our Co-op board or Landmark Commission?
A) ECL will be happy to meet, personally, with your Co-op board or with any
governmental agency, and to present whatever detailed drawings and plans are
required to obtain permission to build.

I have already developed my outdoor space and am only interested in changing
my plantings. Can ECL help?
A) ECL will work with you to select the most appropriate plantings for your
space, based upon aesthetic and environmental considerations, and required maintenance.
Q)
My terrace is tiny. Can ECL help?
A) Well-designed and carefully selected plantings will improve the quality of
ANY space and also enhance the livability of your apartment. ECL does not reject
a project based solely on its size or budget.
